History
It is said that Gyōki founded this temple in 723 when he carved a statue of Yakushi Nyorai. The name Kiyotaki (Pure Waterfall) comes from the legend that after Kūkai prayed for an abundant harvest he struck his staff on the ground and out came pure water which turned into a waterfall. This route is divided into three sections.
The first section is from #35 to Tsukaji (6.9km).
The second section is from Tsukaji to Usa. There are two routes. Route #1 is an old route (3.2km). Route #2 goes through a tunnel (2.6 km).
The third section goes along the coast (4.2km).
