History
During the mid-7th century, a local ruler, Ochi Morioki, built this temple. One legends states that the statue of Senju Kannon Bosatsu was carved by a female dragon which came up the Ryūto River from the sea. The temple fell into disuse, but was restored by Kūkai and prospered. [Provided by Shikoku Japan 88 Route Guide]
