Niomon (#71)

History

Gyōki founded this temple and it was originally called Yakuni-dera (Eight Province Temple) because from here one can see eight surrounding provinces. When Kūkai visited here in 807, he participated in a gumonji-hō rite and changed its name. This temple is credited with many miracle cures. [Provided by Shikoku Japan 88 Route Guide]
