History
In 701, the Lord of Iyo, Tamaoki, built the temple. Later, Kūkai restored it. It is said that there were eight paths leading here, thus the name Yasaka (Eight Slopes). It prospered as a place for Shugendō training. [Provided by Shikoku Japan 88 Route Guide]
